May 22 2005 - B.B. IS KING IN MONCTON - The young Barry Britt impressed al... B.B. IS KING IN MONCTON - The young Barry Britt impressed all in Moncton by winning a wet and windy Around The Bend 5k. The 14-year-old Hampton runner broke away from Chris Landry of Moncton in the last 400m sprint. Top male master runner, Gilles Gautreau, finished 3rd behind Landry. Julie Curwin of Kingston, Ontario, a native of Moncton was the first female finisher. Race results have now been posted. May 22 2005 - COFFIN WINS BLUE NOSE HALF MARATHON: Alex Coffin of Saint John was the... COFFIN WINS BLUE NOSE HALF MARATHON: Alex Coffin of Saint John was the first in a field of 1300 runners to cross the line in Halifax's Blue Nose half marathon. Two other NB'ers, Todd Price (5th) and John Herron (6th) also placed well in the 13.1 mile event. Races in Halifax were run under windy conditions with heavy rainfall. Murray Lowery-Simpson was third overall in the Blue Nose International Marathon among the 300 participants. The Hanwell runner ran the full marathon in a time of 3:06:23, a very respectable time. Micheline Drisdelle, relatively new to the sport and unknown to the NB road racing, finished a very impressive 2nd place in the overall female division. John McNally's time of 3:15:56 left him with only three seconds to spare in his first attempt to qualify for the 2006 Boston Marathon. Marc Gautreau ran a respectable 3:26:37.
