May's Busy Long Weekend - It was a competitive race for top spot in the open men's event. Only 18 seconds separated the first four males in Grand Bay-Westfield's 5k Rave Run. John Roderick, new to running, was the eventual winner. Saint John's April Lambert was the top female. Alain Caron of Charlo ran his 135th marathon in the Sugarloaf/USA Marathon in a respectable 3h15:01. Don Murray of Saint John was the top male NB'er in a time of 3h10:18. Tania Cormier of Cocagne was the first NB female finishing with a 3h:31:45. The 3rd annual Course du Coude (Around the Bend) 5km in Dieppe was won by Chris Landry. The 19 year old from Moncton posted a 16:46, the best time in NB for 2006. The top female finisher was the talented Geneviève Lalonde, only 15 years old, from Moncton, clocking an impressive 18:33. Congratulations to Chris Gairns and Mike Davis both of Fredericton for placing first and second respectively out of 193 competitors at the International Distance Duathalon in Hamilton, Ontario. Jamie Smith also of Fredericton was fifteenth overall, and 3rd in the 40-44 category. May 19 2006 - The Neigh-Day Run is not just for kids - Although the RunNB book...
