Apr 27 2009 - Miramichi Running Club 2009
Many River Runners have shown interest in the Miramichi Running Club. We would like to tell you more about it and hopefully you will join us for another season of great running!
What is the Miramichi Running Club?
The Club is a training club. It is organized by volunteers. We have two scheduled group runs each week as well as a Facebook group, club parties, log books, club t-shirts, road trips ect...
I heard the Miramichi Running Club is just for beginners. Is this true?
Absolutely not! Although our focus last year was to get more Miramichiers involved in running, our ultimate goal is to bring runners of all levels together to train. We want the Miramichi Running Club to be a resource for all local runners to find training parters, take part in group runs, share their favourite routes ect...
How much does it cost?
Club registration is $40 for the year and 100% of the fee goes toward club events, shirts, prizes ect. It is money well spent...take a look at some 2008 and 2009 club pictures http://rockinrun.ca/mirrunclub.html !!
Fast runner? Training for a marathon?
You're not alone...so why train alone!! The Miramichi Running Club is the perfect way to hook up with runners of the same speed or those training for your event. We don't provide coaching though...many of you know way more about running than us!! The idea is that by bringing runners together we will learn from each other.
We currently have a Learn-to-Run group, and runners training for the Rock 'n Run 10K & Half marathon. If we get runners looking to do longer runs then we will add that as well.
We had 45 runners out for our Saturday run!!
Where and when?
Our group runs take place on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm and Saturday mornings at 9am. Our start location changes every couple of weeks. Our next run is Tuesday, April 28th from the Cove parking lot (curling club side). For more information or suggestions please email us: email@example.com

Apr 18 2009 - WHO WAS BRENT KELLY?
Brent Kelly was a young boy who passed away unexpectedly of Giant Cell Myocarditis in 2004 at the age of 12.
As a youngster, Brent loved to hike along the Irving Nature Park with his family and it was always a special place for him. Brent also enjoyed running and competed in cross country and track for his school.
It is a natural fit to hold a Memorial Run for Brent at the Irving Nature Park. All proceeds from the run will be donated to the Brent Kelly Memorial fund which is being used to benefit youth in the Saint John.
Be There! April 25th, 2009 at 9:00am at Irving Nature Park. Click for more details.
