This weekend Alex Coffin won both the Provincial 5km championship in record time (15:46) and then went on to win the Marathon de la Baie des Chaleurs the next morning in 2:48:33! Congrats Alex on a great weekend of running!

Missed the Dieppe Assumption Vie Run for Life last Saturday? Worry not; another great event awaits your energy July 1st at the St. Anselme/ Dieppe Rotary Park. Goguen Assurance with the generous support of its portfolio of national insurance companies, Jean Coutu and others brings you the 5th annual Canada Day Series 1, 5, or 15km Run or Walk.
It is an early start with the walkers, kids getting away between 8 and 8:15 AM, followed shortly thereafter by the 5 and 15KM runners. Register before June 8th and ensure you get a Coolmax shirt and all of this for just $5.00 for the kids and $25.00 for the older folk!
Appreciating the challenges of worthy fundraising, the inspired ownership and agents of Goguen Champlain Insurance turned their back on bowling in lieu of running, something that is dear to so many of its employees. In fact, it was a few short months back when the noontime-running club from Goguen was featured in the T and T.
Upwards of 200 participants, in what is being billed as a family event will traverse the trails of the Rotary Park and the deceptively steep hills of ever-active Dieppe in support of the Association for People with Special Needs. In fact, this great event is but one of many fundraisers throughout the year that have a strong family orientation.
Before participants answer the starters gun they can gain inspiration form the direct benefactors of this popular outing who get to cross the finish line in what is billed as “The Inspiration Run”. The Running Room has coordinated two of its popular clinics to coincide with the event. Great shirts, good treats and a medal for everyone and you will be home before lunch. What a great start to Canada’s birthday!
Jun 7 2009 - Coffin and Lambert set course records at the fast and furious Rave Run!!
Alex Coffin ran a fast and furious 5km in a time of 15:46 at the 5th Annual Rave Run held in Grand Bay-Westfield on Saturday June 6th. Coffin broke Adam Stacey’s record of 15:47 set at last years Rave Run. Dean Strowbridge finished second with a new PB of 16:20 and Evan Arsenault finished 3rd in the men’s race with a 17:06. The Top female was April Lambert who ran a 19: 03, a new course record. Brenda Guitard and Trina Goguen finished 2nd and 3rd respectively breaking the 21minute barrier. Coffin and Lambert were also crowned 5Km Provincial Champions and were presented a cash award of $80 for their efforts. Several personal best performances plus 27 runners under the 22 minute barrier is proof that the Rave Run is Fast and Furious!
