Jan 1 2011 - RunNB Workshop scheduled for Jan 29th Hello Race Directors, RunNB will be having a workshop for all race directors on January 29th (or February 19th if we have to cancel due to weather) in Moncton, New Brunswick (venue TBA). We highly recommend all race directors be in attendance or send a representative from your event to take part. At the workshop we will have a free lunch catered for all. For race directors required to travel to Moncton your gas mileage will be paid for by RunNB (maximum of one mileage allowance per event). The way the workshop will work is we will split everyone into 4 groups and each group will discuss one of the four topics listed below (for about 45 minutes). Once each group had a chance to discuss we will have one person from each group give a 5 - 7 minute summary of what the group achieved during the session. The participants can then have the opportunity to go to another one of the workshop topics and express their concerns that had not been addressed and then the summary will be repeated to the entire group at the end of that session. After which all participants come together for a summary of the agreed topics for implementation. Group Topic #1: RunNB Guidelines & Policies- Assisting runners, age requirements, ear phones while racing, nordic walking, etc... Group Topic #2: Course Measurement Group Topic #3: Race Director Concerns- Communication between RunNB & race directors, advertisement on RunNB website, are payments charged by RunNB fair. Group Topic #4: RunNB Topics- Vacant RunNB positions (Secretary, etc), multiple race distances at events, NB marathon promotion, RunNB Hall of Fame If you as a race director would like to add something to the list above please email me (adam@anb.ca) back within 2 weeks and we will discuss whether of not your topic will be added. Please send me an email if you plan on attending AND what event you are a part of. We hope to see you all out on January 29th!
