The weatherman, or weatherwoman in this case, won the Boston Marathon on Monday with the 116th running of the world’s most famous race. Temperatures during the day ranged between 25-30 degrees c. Organizers emailed the race’s 26,656 runners Sunday to remind them of the risks of running in a “red-zone condition” and to give them the opportunity to defer entry until the 2013 race. Over 4,000 took the offer and decided to have a free race next year.
Dr. Paula Keating, the Queen of Road Racing in New Brunswick was the top New Brunswicker to finish the hot 26.2 mile event in 2:48:58 only one minute and 32 seconds off her NB record she set last year in Boston. Click to read more
