Jun 2 2012 - McNeil sets new course record at the Rave Run's Provincial Championship
Matt McNeil ran a fast and furious 5km in a time of 15:28 at the 8th Annual Rave Run held at River Valley Middle School in Grand Bay –Westfield on Saturday June 2th. McNeil broke Alex Coffin’s record of 15:31 set at the 2010 Rave Run. James Murphy finished second with a 16:01 and Alex Coffin finished 3rd in the men’s race with a 16:11. The Top female was Cathy Jeffrey who ran a 19: 10, nearly breaking the course record of 19:03. Mackenzie Amos and Brenda Guitard finished 2nd and 3rd respectively breaking the 21minute barrier. McNeil and Jeffrey were also crowned male and female 5Km Provincial Champions and were presented a cash award of $80 for their efforts. Several personal best performances plus 36 runners under the 22 minute barrier is proof that the Rave Run is Fast and Furious!
