Arseneau and Boivin win the 382nd DMA

Sylvain Arseneau of Petit Rocher had no competition to win the 382nd Half Marathon of Acadia on August 4, 2019; he led the pack from start to finish to finish with a time of 1: 21: 43. Shippagan's Timmy Basque earned the silver with a time of 1: 27: 41. He was followed on the podium by Jonathan Legault of Dieppe who recorded a time of 1: 29: 28.
 
On the women's side, Nathalie Boivin of Bathurst won gold with a time of 1: 38: 34. She was followed by Nathalie Thériault-Roy from Beresford who was returning to the DMA after a few months of absence; she finished in 1: 49: 49. Moncton's Gina McGraw completed the podium with a time of 1: 52: 42.
 
Thirty-three runners, including 9 women, took the start under a radiant sun and a refreshing northwesterly wind. Three riders were in their first participation in this race. They are Michel Adam of Shammony, Quebec, 1:45:24, Éric Pelletier of Nigadoo, 1:50:54 and Érica Dugas of Mississaga, Ontario, 2:06:26.
 
The draw of a free pass offered by the Half Marathon of Acadia for a race in the next 12 months went to Sylvain Arseneau. For his part, Allan Lagacé earned a free pass offered by the Chaleur Runners Club. Two free passes were offered by Course Caraquet for Sunday's race; the lucky winners are Sylvain Arseneau and Eric Pelletier.
 
DMA President Jean-Marie Breau highlighted the 40th DMA completed today by Gary Kenny and the 130th by Michel McGraw. Congratulations to you both for your perseverance and your loyalty to our race.
 
The next race will take place on September 1st with a departure at the regular time, ie 10am.
