Doiron and Hourihan are the 2019 RunNB 5KM Champions

Over this past weekend there were three RunNB sanctioned races on Sunday, June 23rd. Here's a recap of each!

Miramichi Rock n’ Run

-5km, Jean-Marc Doiron of Moncton came on top once again winning the provincial 5km and a cash prize of $200 with a time of 16:03 after winning the provincial 10k a few weeks ago in Chaleur! Grant Handrigan of Moncton came in second (16:15) winning $125. Pier-Luc Roy of Dieppe came in third (16:30) winning $50. Sacha Hourihan of Southfield came out first among the women, winning the provincial 5km with a time of 18:15 and a cash prize of $200, after also winning the provincial 10k a few weeks ago in Chaleur. Sylvie LeBlanc of Bathurst came in second (19:53) winning $125 and Sylvie Cormier of Dieppe came in third (22:14) winning $50. (Cash prizes mentioned are the RunNB prize money awarded to top three male and female New-Brunswickers at Provincial Championship races).

-In the 10k, Kevin Duffy of Bible Hill, NS finished first for the men with a time of 39:40 and Paula Keating was first among the women with a time of (40:47)

-In the Half Marathon, Donald Rasmussen of Antigonish, NS finished first out of the men (1:18:15) and Laura Dickinson of South Nelson finished first out of the women (1:21:40).

June Run for Renee was held in Quispamsis.

-In the 5km, Evan Arsenault of Quispamsis came out on top with a time of 16:08. James Murphy of Saint-John came in second (16:52) and Scott Lee in third (18:09). Patty Blanchard was the first female to finish in a time of 20:59.

There was also a great turnout at the Bay of Fundy International Marathon in Campobello Island.

-In the marathon, Robert Ashby of Brunswick, ME finished first with a time of 2:48:40. Sarah Mulcahy of Fort Kent, ME finished first among females and second overall with a time of 2:56:06.

-In the Half Marathon, James Denby Wilkes of Saint-John, NB finished first with a time of 1:20:13. Lilian Calderwood of Dedham, ME was the first female to finish with a time of 1:35:44.

-In the Ultramarathon, Nathaniel Graber of New Castle, DE finished first (4:24:30) and Jennifer Spinney of Fredericton, NB finished first among the women (4:44:09).

-In the 10K, Alexandre Banks of Saint-John, NB was the first male to finish (38:31) and Emma Trapani of Rockport, ME was the first female to finish (43:56)
