Races, Races and More Races!

Over the past weekend there was great participation all over the province at the RunNB events! Here’s a recap of each!

Irish Festival 5k

There was a great turnout on Saturday at the Irish Festival in Miramichi. Maddie McLeod of New Maryland was the first to finish with a time of 19:33, Paula Keating of Miramichi was the second to finish (19:42), and Amy Barrieau was the third female to finish (22:55). Colin McFarkane of Ottawa was the first man to finish with a time of 19:41, Ralph Williston of Miramichi was second (20:14) and Owen Cook of Miramichi was third (20:45). 

 

 Courses Festival des pêches et de l’aquaculture de Shippagan

10k, Jonathan Legault of Dieppe finished first with a time of 41:51, Patrick Hache of Tracadie finished second (43:15) and Michel LeBlanc of Dieppe third (44:14).

5k, Timmy Basque of Shippagan came in first (20:28), Sebastien Duke of Bathurst second (23:07) and David Grenier of Sherbrooke third (23:30).

 

Quispamsis PRO Kids Run and Swim

Evan Arsenault of Quispamsis finished the 5k first with a time of 16:36, Dan Backa finished second (18:40) and Joe Brennan of Saint-John finished third (19:06). Marie Holland of Saint-John was the first of the women to finish (22:39), Alicia Postuma of Quispamsis finished second (23:22) and Kim Perry of Quispamsis finished third (23:36). In the 3k, Kyle Broderick of Quispamsis finished first (13:51), Samuel Watson of Quispamsis finished second (15:07) and Lucas Martens of Quispamsis came third (15:45).

This upcoming weekendthere will be three sanctioned RunNB races all over the province.

In Woodstock, there will be the Tim Hortons Joe McGuire Road Race on Saturday July 27th. This event will feature the 10km (SuperSeries), 5km and 5km walk.

In Rogersville, there will be the Course du Festival des Choux de Bruxelles on Saturday July 27thas well. The main distance is the 5km but it will also have the 2km.
In Quispamsis, there will be the July Run for Renee 5k on Sunday July 28th. This is a certified course that will feature the 5km run.
