FREDERICTON (RUNNB) – New Brunswick’s marathon champions were crowned at the 37th edition of the Scotiabank Fredericton race weekend.
Jeff Queen, of Saint John, crossed the finish line in 2:55:24 to claim the New Brunswick male marathon championship title. He placed second behind overall winner David MacLennan of Scotsburn, Nova Scotia.

|Small Strides, Healthy Lives looking to set record in 2015, encourage 3,000 youth to get active|

Strengthening a partnership that has already seen thousands of youth get active over the last two years, RunNB announced today that it is partnering with the New Brunswick Medical Society on the 2015 partnership for the popular Run NB children’s running program.
“We are confident that this will be our best year yet,” said Brian Richard, President of RunNB. “Every year, the number of children participating in our kids’ races grows and this renewed partnership will help promote children to lead healthy and active lifestyles.”

It Was The Wind
We remembered the wind. And a bit of Sylvio too of course. But mainly it was the wind that dominated our recollections of the first nine years of the Grande Digue 15k.
The wind could turn a cool April day into a shiverfest as we waited for the race to begin.
The wind off the Northumberland Strait would herd runners into echelon-shaped packs to conserve energy.
We dreaded the wind.

|5 New Provincial records!|

Though not even three months into the new year, New Brunswick runners have already accomplished 5 provincial records in road races. With the Maritimes still under far too much snow, runners headed to Bermuda and New York City in hopes of escaping the cold and getting into a better running environment.
Peggy Couper broke the women's 70-79 half marathon record with a time of 2:02:02, and the one mile record with a time of9:02, both on January 18th in Hamilton, Bermuda. Jut weeks later, Couper also broke the 5km record on February 1st in Paget, Bermuda.... >> more
