New Brunswickers shine at Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon

Several of New Brunswick's elite distance runners made the trip to Toronto to compete in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label Race Event. Despite unfavorable weather, there were several incredible performances.   Shelley Doucet of Quispamsis ran a fantastic race to improve her time as the second fastest New Brunswick woman over the marathon distance, finishing with a time of 2:48.56 to place fourth in her age group and finish 12th overall for females. FREDERICTON (RunNB) - The nomination process for the 2016 RunNB Awards is now open. Runners and friends can now make submissions for the upcoming annual RunNB awards to be held in Tracadie on November 19 at the association's Annual Awards Banquet and Hall of Fame. RunNB's events for the last weekend of summer!

There are four races on the RunNB Calendar for this weekend with plenty of variety in distances and courses. On Saturday there is a 12Km at Rockwood Park. The course description is ‘Lots of hills and dirt.’ So, if this is your thing get out there and enjoy. Also on Saturday is the Main Street Mile in Sackville. This is a new and chip-timed race, so if you fancy a shorter and fast race this is the one for you. RunNB's events this weekend

This weekend there are four races on the RunNB Calendar including the Championship 10km on Sunday in Bathurst. On Saturday there is the Run for Shelter 5Km at the Irving Nature Park in Saint John and a 5Km in Moncton at the University Campus. Both of these are new races for you to enjoy. Sunday sees the running of the New Brunswick Championship 10km in Bathurst. This is bound to be a very fast race.
