Mercury Run Set For Saturday

Another Super Series road race is happening this Saturday in Oromocto! The Mercury Run will take place on April 30th starting at 9:00am at Oromocto High School.   Distances offered include a 5km run/walk, a 10km run, and a 10km team race where four runners form a team to cover the distance. Grande-Digue 15km Recap

The 11th Annual Grande-Digue 15km took place on Saturday, hosting one of the most competitive distance races in Atlantic Canada. The event, which also features a 5km, saw 273 finishers and two new course records! Matt McNeil of Saint John won the men's 15km race with a new course record of 46:56, which also ties the New Brunswick record set in Florida in 2012 by Rejean Chiasson. Alex Cyr of Wellington, Prince Edward Island finished 2nd with a time of 48:41 while Grant Handrigan of Moncton finished 3rd with a time of 49:06. Brent Kelly Memorial 5 Mile Run Recap

The 12th Brent Kelly Memorial 5 Mile Run took place in Saint John on Saturday with 202 runners/walkers finishing. Nice weather led to some fast times, including a new course record!   Sacha Monahan of Southfield won the women's race with a new course record of 30:57. Big race weekend in New Brunswick

New Brunswick runners of all levels will have two great chances to showcase their fitness this weekend as two of the province’s signature races take place.   The 12th Annual Brent Kelly Memorial 5 Mile Walk/Run will take place on Saturday, April 23rd in Saint-John.   Last year, 190 runners/walkers took part in the event. New Brunswick shines at Boston Marathon

Marathon Monday has begun as 54 of the province's best road runners have made the trip to compete in the 120th annual Boston Marathon.    Colin McQuade of Riverview was the province's top finisher, crossing the line with a time of 2:48:40. McQuade finished 398th overall and 35th in his division (40-44). McQuade was followed by Yves Bourque of Moncton and Nathaniel Couture of Fredericton with times of 2:50:14 and 2:50.025, respectively.
