|Run NB Events Preview July 23-24|

This Saturday July 23 Rogersville’s Course du Festival des Chaux des Bruxelles will be run with prizes for the top two male and top two female finishers. The two distances of races being offered are 5km and 2km. This course is generally flat with a few small hills.
On Sunday July 24th Quispamsis will host a race in the Run for Renee 5km summer series. This is a fast point to point course- mostly downhill for the first 3km, then small ups and downs to the finish. ... >> more

This weekend provides three race locations for runners in the province.
The Richibucto Rum Runner event on Saturday July 16th includes a main distance of 10km, with a 5km race choice as well. Everything gets underway at the Town Hall in Richibucto at 9:00 a.m.
Also on Saturday, Shippagan hosts 10km and 5km Festival des Peches et Aquaculture de Shippagan. The 10km course records of 38:52 for the men and 51:18 for the women are up for grabs. At the 5km distance, participants have the option to run or walk the course.

On Saturday July 9th, St-Quentin hosted the Course à pied "Bon Coeur". At the 10k distance Sylvain Martin of Riviere-Verte claimed first place, finishing in a time of 42:12. Chantal Theriault of Port-Cartier was the first female finisher to cross the line in a time of 51:31. In the 5k race Olivier Godbout finished in a time of 17:43. Renee Theriault was the first female runner to complete the race in a time of 25:28. The 2k race saw Lo Coulombe of St-Quentin finish the race in a time of 9:20. This upcoming weekend provides the opportunity for runners to race in several places across New Brunswick.
On Saturday July 9th, Shediac will play host to the George Gallant 10km race, a Running Room Super Series Event. The main distance is 10km with runners also having the choice between 5km, 1km, and 100m distances.
On Saturday July 9th, as part of the Western NB Festival, St-Quentin will host “Course a Pied Bon Coeur”. The main distance is 10km with other races offered at 5km and 2km distances as well.
