Lee and Thériault-Roy win the 383rd Demi-Marathon de l’Acadie

Scott Lee of Baxter Corner won the 383rd Demi-Marathon de l’Acadie on Sunday, September 1, 2019, finishing 1 minute ahead of Timmy Basque of Shippagan. Lee finished in 1:23:36 and Basque in 1:24:39, his best time at this event. The podium was completed by Patrick Haché of Tracadie with a time of 1:37:07.

On the women's side, Nathalie Thériault-Roy of Beresford earned gold with a time of 1:43:03. She was followed by Silvia Antuna of Tracadie in 1:52:55 and Marcelle Breau of Tracadie in 1:54:49.

Sixteen runners, including six women, took the start under a bright sun and a fresh breeze from the northwest. Two runners were in their first participation in this race. Scott Lee, the winner and Mathieu Paulin of Bathurst, 2:10:24.

 The draw of a free entry to a Demi-Marathon de l’acadie for a race in the next 12 months courtesy of Demi-Marathon de l’Acadie went to Laurent Godin of Black Rock. For her participation, Lucienne Roy of Petit-Rocher earned a free entry courtesy of the Athlétisme Chaleur Athletics Club. Jean-Marie Breau completed today his 380th DMA. Congratulations!

The president of the Tracadie 10km, Patrick Haché, invites runners not to miss the Tracadie 10km on September 15th. This race, which took place last year, offers you a picturesque route, attractive prices, a certified course and beautiful encounters. There is same-day registration, but if you want to save money and make it easier on yourselves and the organizers, it is better to do it by September 14th.

The next DMA race will take place on October 6th with a start at 10am.
